Benefit Tibetan Dinner with the Monks of Gaden Shartse

Come join the Monks of Gaden Shartse Phukhang for a delicious home cooked dinner of TIbetan specialties. Veg momos, a traditional Tibetan thenthuk (noodle soup) and other delicious bites.

The monks have been traveling around the United States for the last year spreading their Culture and Teachings, as well as their Practices of Meditation and Paths to Inner Peace and Compassion. They will soon be leaving us to go back to their monastery in Southern India.

The evening will start with a short lecture on Boddhichitta (this is the awakening of consciousness for the benefit of all beings), followed by a spirited demonstration on Buddhist Debate. We will then all sit down for dinner.

This is a great opportunity to learn about Tibetan Buddhism and the Monks’ culture in a very relaxed and personal way and to support them.

During the tour, the monks have been raising funds to build a new dormitory at their monastery which is extremely over-crowded. They currently have 120 rooms for 450 monks which is especially difficult for the older, senior lamas who should have a better standard of living. All proceeds from the dinner will go directly to the monks for this purpose. We thank you in advance for your support!
